Made a reservation at this restaurant in the afternoon, but unfortunately, they didn't seem to have it on record despite receiving a confirmation email. Although we hoped for a comfortable seat, we ended up under a strong aircon.
When we asked for the aircon to be turned off because we were feeling cold, the staff replied "We cannot turn off the aircon because it's hot". Did the staff decline to turn off the aircon because she was feeling warm, or was it to maintain a comfortable temperature for the restaurant to operate? It would be helpful if she could provide a more logical response to our request.
The Taiwanese chicken bites (poorly fried karaage) had an unusual taste, possibly from using old oil. The crab meat aglio olio didn't quite capture the crab flavor, leaning more towards a stale seafood taste. As for the truffle mushroom pasta, it fell a bit short of the typical "restaurant standard."
The truffle mushroom pasta is mediocre, nowhere near a "restaurant standard" you would typically expect.
In short, wouldn't recommend this place is you want to get humbled and waste your money on mediocre food. They serve decent tea but a hundred dollars can get you better food somewhere else.
The vibe of this place and location are very nice. What I didn't like as much was the food as it was lacking flavour. If I had come here just for a coffee/drink (no food) I would've given it a higher rating, because the terrace is quite nice. They're also dog friendly.
We tried 3 mains and they were all delicious. Highly recommend their Steak and Egg ($27++). The steak was perfectly cooked, served with your choice of egg. For this price I think this is a steal.
We also tried the Crab Meat Pasta ($24++). It was tasty and the seasoning was on point.
Skip the Taiwanese Chicken Bites ($15++). The chicken thigh was still gamey. I didn’t like the unpleasant odour when biting into the fried chicken.
We were seated outdoor at a corner because we came with a pet. There was no fan at all and it was super hot. It would be good if additional fans are installed to curb the heat.

Nice comfort food but definitely not mind blowing. The food is very expensive given it’s simplicity and simple ingredients. Service is good overall and spent a lovely time here.
service and atmosphere are great. they didn’t chase us away on a weekday lunch.
food is so so, nothing to shout about especially the taiwanese chicken. salted caramel latte was good!
$150 deposit for table reservation/booking was too demanding. the deposit was deducted from credit card the moment reservation was made online. I called the restaurant to verify and was shocked when the restaurant said the deposit cannot be …
Modern place where, as soon as we arrive, we are warmly welcomed by staff. We can even guess their smile behind their mask. …
Casual cafe restaurant with cosy atmosphere with a botanical taste which probably the place was named after. Food is okay but a bit pricey.
